Bristol Falls

This falls on the New Haven River as it runs off the Green Mountains’ western slope was intended as another HDR image. It was taken just a few thousand feet upstream from the posting of two days ago. I knew the falling water would be a problem for the HDR conversion, but I figured I could paste the falling water from one of the individual exposures onto the HDR version. Alas, the HDR conversion looked awful, like some surrealist nightmare, so I did it the old fashioned way—with masking. This is a composite of three exposures. I have a feeling HDR will work best for architecture, and then only when all else fails. The old fashioned way is good enough for me.

Earlier this evening we heard Ornette Coleman, with the same band that appears on his last recording, Sound Grammar, and excellent they were!
